The Biogas Program for the Animal Husbandry Sector of Vietnam

The Biogas Program for Animal Husbandry Sector of Vietnam was launched in 2003 by the Biogas Project Division under the Department of Livestock and Production, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, in cooperation with SNV, an international development organisation established in the Netherlands and financed by the Netherlands government. Up to 2011, the project has supported construction of over 110,000 biogas plants. Phase 2 of the project (2007 - 2012) aims at supporting the construction of 140,000 biogas plants, providing training for at least one biogas technician per province, one biogas technician and two biogas mason teams per district. In total 2,000 people will be trained through intensive programs to support the establishment of 1-2 biogas enterprises per province.
