Hivos has started an access to energy programme in developing countries in 2005. It focuses on the decentralised production of bio-diesel, micro-hydro electricity, the construction of energy efficiant stoves and domestic biogas - through the Hivos Climate compensation Fund and marketing of the emission reduction credits for the Cambodisan National Biodigester Proreamme and from an improved cook stove programme in Tanzania.

Hivos supports some 850 organiations in developing countries. In the field of energy & Climate change.         Hivos has started an access to energy programme in developing countries in 2005.
