The Nexus alliance team is composed of a board of directors and a small, permanent management team dedicated to serving Nexus members.
The Board of Directors (BoD) is composed of 5 directors and 4 advisers. Directors are elected from the Nexus membership, whereas advisers are representatives from outside companies or organizations (profit or nonprofit sector) nominated by the board to provide technical expertise and advice in carbon market trends, technologies and other relevant issues.

Dr. Priyadarshini Karve has been working on developing biomass energy technologies and their dissemination in rural areas from 1991. She completed Ph.D. in Physics from University of Pune, in 1998. Since then she has worked as a researcher and Project Co-ordinator at Nexus member Appropriate Rural Technology Institute (ARTI), as a Faculty member at various engineering, architecture, management and liberal arts education institutes, and as a Founder Co-Editor of a magazine on Science & Education. The biowaste-to-charcoal technology developed by Dr. Priyadarshini Karve won ARTI the Ashden Award for Renewable Energy in 2002. Dr. Karve herself has received several national as well as international honours including the World Technology Award 2005 in Environment Category, awarded by the World Technology Network, New York.

Mrs. Tong completed her Bachelor degree in Forestry Sciences. She has been working with the Cambodian Center for Study and Development in Agriculture (CEDAC) for more than 10 years in sustainable agriculture and rural development. Mrs. Tong is a key person engaging in renewable energy and climate change at CEDAC. She used to coordinate WENetCam's program and improved cookstove capacity building activities.

Alain Guinebault, a physician engineer specialised in energy issues, participated in the creation of Nexus, bringing together actors who were willing to scale up the impacts of their projects through the use of carbon finance. Alain joined GERES (Group for the Environment, Renewable Energy and Solidarity) in 1984 and has been General Manager for 15 years. GERES runs programs in France and in 12 developing countries, focusing on clean energy production, energy savings and efficiency, local policy and land use, economic development and climate change.

Christina Aristanti has been working for Yayasan Dian Desa since 1980. For the past 15 years she has been the manager of the Asia Regional Cookstove Program (ARECOP), a network in Asia that promote the development and dissemination of improved cookstoves in various countries throughout Asia.

Mr. Baidya is one of the founding members of CRT/N. He has a Masters degree in Commerce (M.Com) from Tribhuvan University. He has 32 years of work experience in the Agricultural Development Bank of Nepal in various capacities (from officer to deputy general manager). He has been fully involved in CRT/N management for the last 10 years. He is also involved in different projects of CRT/N as a coordinator. He is the chairman of Swabalamban Laghubitta Bikas Bank, one of the leading micro-credit banks in Nepal.

David Rapin is Director of Business Development of BlueNext S.A., the international environmental exchange, since its inception in December 2007. From 2003 to 2007, he served as Product Manager of Powernext S.A. in Paris, the French energy exchange. Graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques, Geneva University and Paris Dauphine University, he also is a member of the International Association of Energy Economists since 2004 and the CGEMP (Centre for Geopolitics of Energy and Raw Materials) in Paris, France.

Since 2006, Frédéric Crampé has been managing REEX Capital Asia, a business advisory boutique based in Singapore and specializing in the Asian Clean Energy sector and offering investment banking type services. Frédéric is also vice-chairman of the finance committee of the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS) and director of a Philippines-based energy services company. He started his career in the US, working for NASA in the Satellite Earth Observation Department (natural disasters and climate change) before holding the position of Business Development Manager for an environmental engineering services company. He has an MBA from Insead and MSc. from Supaero.

Jasmine Hyman is currently completing a doctorate at the Yale School of Forestry and the Environment, where she seeks to identify design principles for global climate finance schemes that promote equitable development and social justice. Prior to her research at Yale, she was the Director of Programs and Partnerships at the Gold Standard Foundation. From 2001-2005, she worked on climate and sustainable agriculture issues at the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization. She was the head writer and correspondent for the International Year of Rice in 2004.

While studying at EDHEC business school, Marion took a gap year and worked with social entrepreneurs in developing countries. Her mantra became “Change investment patterns and you’ll change the world!” After her MSc, she joined the M&A team of Barclays Bank in London, where she worked on the acquisition of Lehman Brothers. While there, she received her CIMA qualification and developed the unique skill set she now uses as Executive Director of Nexus - Carbon for Development. If you ask her about her years in the City, she’ll say that there is no experience like the one that takes you deep inside the world you are trying to change.

With an international relations education background, Raphaele has gained communication and PR skills over the last 10 years as Group account director for the communications and advertising company Ogilvy Action and as Cultural program officer in the diplomatic service of France. In 2009, Raphaele joined the GERES-Nexus team as Communications Manager to raise the international profile of their works. Convinced that the private sector has a role to play in the climate change arena, she took over the position of Communications and Partnership Director at Nexus early 2011.

Sam's background is in environmental campaigning for Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth, with a specialization in climate change. Following a M.Sc. in Environmental Technology, he joined the GERES Cambodia Climate Change Unit in 2006. As technical director of Nexus, he is responsible for supporting Nexus carbon finance documentation to help projects access carbon revenue.

Sarah graduated with a BSc Environment, Economics & Ecology and MSc Resource Management in the UK. She has previously worked as a project co-ordinator, and socio-economist for Plan Vivo carbon forestry standards, spending time in East Africa. She also worked on various projects as a researcher at the University of Edinburgh most recently this took her to India and Cambodia to manage biochar field projects.

Paulo holds an MSc Environmental Technology from Imperial College London where he specialised in the carbon market and is the author of “Review of Forestry Carbon Standards (2009)”. Paulo has been working with dozens of organisations to reduce their carbon footprint through internal and external reductions mainly in Europe and also in the US, Central Asia and Africa. He also specialises in developing forestry and Gold Standard carbon offsetting projects and believes the role of the private sector is critical to help poor communities to develop sustainably and reduce the risks of climate change. Paulo joined Nexus as a Carbon Project Officer to bring pro poor projects to carbon markets.

Marion studied political science and public affairs in Strasbourg, France. She worked for 5 years for the conservation organization WWF, on climate related business partnerships. As part of her job for WWF, she organized large-scale conferences in Europe and Asia and was responsible for coordinating an international business engagement platform. Marion realized that today's environmental challenges are increasingly becoming equity issues, and this is what brought her to Nexus team.

Marlene is a graduate in Economics & Business Administration and she also holds a postgraduate degree in Finance & Accounting Management. She previously assumed business and finance analyst roles across European countries where she acquired sound knowledge on financial & managerial reporting as well as on business support. Spending a few years travelling in Asia & South America made her more aware of the challenges faced by the developing countries. She moved to the non-profit sector, Nexus, when knowing that Nexus commitment uses financial tools to provide funds and expertise for sustainable projects while laying heavy stress on ethical values and transparency paths.

Before joining Nexus team early 2011, Theary worked for 3 years as administrative assistant of the climate change unit of GERES. There, she gained invaluable experience in organizing logistics for the busy travelers. As a Khmer national, Theary is Nexus sesame for all administrative and finance questions at Nexus Cambodia office.

Fahreza recently graduated with a Masters of Commerce in International Finance from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. Prior to joining Nexus, he completed an internship with ClearWorld Energy Climate Action in Beijing where he was responsible for developing communication collateral for carbon offset projects and created social media engagement tools for corporations to engage their stakeholders in tackling climate change. He also worked in the financial industry working at Goldman Sachs as part of their global operations team. He completed his Bachelors of Arts in Economics and French from Hamilton College in New York and spent one year studying in France.

Sokunthea is graduated from the Institute of Foreign Languages and from the Department of Media and Communication at Royal University of Phnom Penh. She previously worked as a reporter at Economic Today Magazine as well as in communications departments of United Nation Resident Coordinator and United Nation Development Program. Her concerns about climate change impacts both globally and in Cambodia brought her to Nexus. Kunthea is responsible for the development of communication material and for the organization of events.
